All of us, however unpleasant it is to realize, are in the risk zone. Our brain is as flexible (cortical cells are able to perform some functions of ‘faded’ brain areas) as vulnerable. Only imagine: our brain is continuously exposed to the rapid pace of modern life with its bad ecology, forced to quickly process information flows attacking it from all quarters, and has to take decisions, sometimes in an instant. But what do we do instead of helping and thanking our brain already tortured by all those stresses, air pressure drops, and our endless air travel? We deprive it of sleep, proper nutrition, and – why deny it? – poison it with nicotine and alcohol. No one would behave like that but a very careless owner.
